Ans. The reasons for purchasing readymade garments are as follows:

(i) Lack of time – Due to lack of time in today’s fast-paced life, readymade clothes are purchased.

(ii) For new fashion clothes, generally people want to wear new fashion clothes which are different from others. Many new fashion clothes are available in readymade clothes.

(iii) Readymade clothes are cheaper than conventional clothes because producers produce them in large quantities.

(iv) Facility of trial: There is also a facility to try the readymade garments i.e. by trying them on and if they do not fit well or do not like it, they can reject them. This facility is not available for buying clothes and getting them stitched.

(v) In readymade clothes shops, clothes of all ages, fashions, seasons and every style are generally available, which facilitates selection and the buyer gets complete satisfaction with clothes.

(vi) Manufacturers of readymade clothes continuously research and study the hobbies of people of all ages and interests and manufacture clothes according to that need. With this, people get clothes as per their interest.

(vii) Readymade clothes are durable to wear, wash and maintain quality.

(viii) During festive and festive seasons, it is a big problem for the head of the family to buy clothes and get clothes prepared as per their interest for the entire family members. Readymade garments have huge stocks of different types of clothes which makes shopping convenient.

(2) Regular accounting – The investor should keep an account of all the schemes in which he invests his money so that he can immediately come to know about any slight manipulation in any scheme.

(3) Knowledge of increase and decrease in prices – The investor should keep getting complete information about the prices of the means of investment from time to time.

(4) Consultation with experienced investors – While investing money, one should also consult experienced investors, so that the money can be invested in the right plan.

Ans. Family structure plays an important role in dietary planning. 

(1) Age of members – The diet of the family depends on the age of the family members. If there are mostly young members in the family, then a more nutritious and calorie-rich diet is required. If the number of elderly members in a Gaddi family is high, then more soft beverages have to be included in the diet. 

(ii) Income of the family – If the family is of a lower class, then one has to be frugal in planning the meal and compromise with the interests of the members. But if the family is of upper class, then importance has to be given to the interest of the members along with nutrition in organizing the feast. 

(iii) If the members of the family are involved in physical labour due to family occupation, then high-calorie foods have to be included in the diet. On the other hand, if there are members of the family who do mental labour or work while sitting, then food items should be selected according to their health.

(iv) Social and religious beliefs of the family – The person organizing the meal should also keep in mind the social and religious status of the family, what are the social and religious beliefs of the person for whom the meal is being planned? Some people do not eat onion, garlic, egg, meat, fish etc. Some prefer non-vegetarian food at night and some prefer non-vegetarian food during the day. People of all religions observe fasting. On the occasion of religious festivals, food should be organized as per tradition.

Ans. The Integrated Child Development Scheme is a welfare program of the Government of India. It provides day-to-day, preschool education and primary health care facilities to children aged 6 years (preschool children) and their mothers. Today’s child is tomorrow’s future citizen. 

The burden of the country is going to fall on his shoulders. That is why it becomes necessary to keep children disease-free for their healthy and high standard of living. For this, the Integrated Child Development Scheme has been implemented. This scheme has the following objectives: 

(a) Improvement in health and diet of children aged 0-6 years only.

(b) To lay the foundation of children’s physical, psychological and social development. 

(c) To bring about change in malnutrition, death illness and dropping out of school.

(d) To increase general knowledge about the general and dietary needs of children.

Ans. Weaning – The process of including other food items in the child’s diet instead of breastfeeding or milk-feeding methods is called weaning. 

Breastfeeding is a gradual process in which normal food items are included in the diet of babies after studying their expressions and behaviour. It is the responsibility of the parents to decide at what age this process should begin. 

The process of weaning in children should start when the child takes an object in his mouth and tries to chew it. 

Many researches show that it is best to start the weaning process at the age of 6 years and milk should not be completely left out of the diet because milk is the best nutritious food.

Breastfeeding is the best diet for a baby and only breastfeeding is necessary till the age of 6 months. After this, cow’s milk should be fed through a bottle. When the baby tries to eat anything on his own, liquid foods like juice, kheer, wet rice khichdi etc. should be fed with a spoon or by hand. From this time onwards, children should try to break the habit of breastfeeding or bottle feeding.

Importance of weaning for children 

(1) For the growth of the child – Breastfeeding is necessary for the growth of the child. The weight of the baby doubles in 6 months and triples in a year. For this, it becomes necessary to include normal food items in the diet.

(ii) Need for normal food items – A normal human being takes solid food items in his diet. To develop this habit in children, weaning is necessary. Although children tend to take and chew things on their own after six months.

(iii) Need for balanced food – Man needs balanced food according to his activities. He needs the appropriate amount of calories, vitamins, minerals, proteins etc. in his food. To have a balanced diet, the process of weaning has to be started.

(iv) Interest in eating normal food: Children are aware of the environment around them and observe any new object and try to pick it up. Seeing others eating something or chewing their mouth, they also demand food. Seeing children’s interest in eating normal food, they should be included in the process of weaning.

(v) Diversity in diet – Children are fed milk as soon as they are born and even after growing up, milk is always included in the diet. Always drinking milk creates disinterest in children and they run away from it. Man always wants variety in his diet. For this the process of weaning is necessary.

(vi) Need for special diet – Due to physical structure, thinness or other diseases of some children, some special food items have to be taken in large quantities in the diet. This need is not fulfilled by milk but by normal food items only. Therefore weaning is necessary.

Ans. The following four food items can be given to a fever patient:

(i) Fruit juice and glucose: The fever patient becomes physically weak and the energy requirement increases by 50% at this time. To fulfil this, fruit juice and glucose water should be given to the patient’s diet. Glucose fulfils the fat and carbohydrate needs of the fever patient. fruit juice Compensates the deficiency of vitamins in the body.

(ii) Protein-rich food like bread – During fever, the body needs more protein due to the breakdown of tissues. To fulfil this, protein-rich foods like bread should be included in the diet. 

(iii) Green vegetables – There is a deficiency of sodium and salt in the body of the fever patient. To fulfil this, green vegetables and milk should be included. 

(iv) During milk and water fever, there is a huge amount of water deficiency in the body. Water helps in balancing body temperature. Therefore, the patient should drink water in large quantities. Drinks should also include milk, sherbet without ice, soup etc.
