Wide stitching is good to wear. It is difficult to make alterations in tight seams. If the threads of the cloth become loose and untied easily from the edges, then it should be folded in such a way that the fold does not appear narrow.

In woolen clothes, most of the edges are ‘pico’ed so that their threads do not come out. In children’s and other garments, the seams are stitched with a flat stitch (rum, spread or French). Ans. 1. Quality of fabric – First of all, the type of fabric used in the garment should be seen. What fibers is the cloth made of, what is its structure, how is the weaving etc. Is the fabric going to shrink, how will the fabric be washed and maintained. Will the clothes hang after washing? Do the embellishments on the garment, such as gota, buttons, lace etc. match the type of fabric.

Are they fitted correctly? For example, sometimes nylon lace is applied to cotton clothes. When such clothes are ironed, the nylon lace gets burnt which spoils the beauty of the clothes. Apart from this, care should be taken to ensure that the type of every joint and ornamentation on the garment is the same.

2. Colour: While buying readymade clothes, it should also be kept in mind that the colors of the clothes should be strong and the colors of the decorations used in them should also be strong. For example, if the piping in a garment is of raw colour, it loses all its beauty after washing.

3. Weaving and Workmanship of the cloth: After this, attention is paid to the skill of making the garment. Under this, cutting of fabric, stitching (seams), patterns (designs), means of closure (plackets) (fasteners), external decoration and decoration (decoration) are taken care of.

(i) Cutting of cloth: Cutting of various pieces used in garments.

The fitting comes properly only when it is done properly. If the cloth etc. is not cut along the grain line, then the garment made from that cloth does not have a beautiful drape and it looks stretched in a strange way.

Due to being stretched, they do not have flexibility and they tear quickly. Therefore, the vertical stance of the garment should be taken from the fabric and the horizontal stance should be taken from the width of the cloth. only then

The drape of the garment is beautiful and looks attractive. (ii) Seams of clothes – While selecting readymade clothes, attention should also be paid to their stitching.

(a) The stitching should be tight, that is, the stitching stitches should be close.

(b) Wherever the cloth is cut and joined together, the stitching should be strong enough so that the cloth can bear the tension and tension and does not tear.

(c) In ready-made garments, there should be enough scope for turning the hem in the bottom length and sleeve length so that when long garments become fashionable, they can be lengthened.

(d) Sufficient cloth should be left at each sewing place so that if the cloth has to be loosened, there is no difficulty.

(e) Every part of the lining should be connected by stitching. In sewing clothes, many times when applying trumpet piping by hand or folding the circle from the bottom, the trumpet stitches should be small and close together. The end of the trumpet should be properly closed, so that it does not open. Some thread of trumpet also on the upper side of the cloth

It is visible, hence the color of the trumpet thread should match the color of the cloth. (ii) Design on clothes

(a) While sewing clothes, attention should also be paid to the various patterns made on them.

Many times in a garment with stripes, the stripes do not match at the stitching places, which spoils the beauty of the garment, therefore, while buying readymade garments, care should be taken to ensure that the stitching places are not matching each other.

(b) Whether the various pieces of the sample are attached to the right side of the cloth or not.

(c) In clothes with hair and pile, it should be kept in mind that their shape should be such that the hair and pile of all the clothes are in the same direction, otherwise they appear of different shades.

(d) Whatever pattern is applied on ready-made garments, it should match the garment in every way and should not look ugly.

(iv) Means of closing the clothes (Placket and fasteners) Some part of every garment is kept open for wearing and taking off. That part is closed after the garment. The place in the clothes where the buttons etc. that close the clothes go is called a placket. Such as buckles, hook-eyes, fasteners. 1 Ties or cords. Press buttons are fitted correctly and act properly.

These devices fitted on the placket should match the color of the cloth and enhance the beauty of the cloth. Wherever such closing devices are required, such devices have been used. For example, where the garment does not have to show that there is a cut part of the garment, press-buttons should be used.

(v) Decoration on clothes – Decoration is also done on ready-made clothes to make them beautiful, like embroidery, applique work, lace etc. whatever decorations are attached

(i) They should all be firm, (ii) Their color should not fade away, (iii) They should be in harmony with the cloth, (iv) They should match the type of the main cloth, (V) While ironing, they should not require different heat from the main garment, (vi) The decorations should be balanced, (vii) The decorations should be such that they can be changed if desired, such as increasing the length of the garment. If there are readymade garments in which collar and cuffs are made, then before purchasing them, one should check whether buckram has been used in the collar and cuffs to keep them stiff or not.

4. Fashion – While looking at the weaving and workmanship of clothes, one should pay attention to whether the clothes are in accordance with the prevailing fashion. Have the decorations, length, fringes etc. given in these A’s been kept in mind as per the prevailing fashion?

5. While selecting comfortable ready-made clothes, one should also keep in mind whether the person will feel comfortable wearing those clothes or not, whether the clothes will be tight at some places or cause tension at some places. It would not be possible that the fibers embedded in the clothes, equipment etc. might prick him.

6. Size – While buying readymade clothes, one should also keep in mind that the clothes will fit the person for whom you are buying them. Many readymade clothes are available in free size. That’s why no one buys them. Fabrics made from stretch and textured yarns are easy to care for, have longer life and usage as these garments are durable.
